Sylvie and Dan find out some incredible news - doctors predict they could be married for 68 more years! What great news, right? Well truth is, 68 years is a really long time. As Sylvie and Dan start to put together exactly what that means, they realize their silver anniversary won’t even be half way to the end of their marriage. This otherwise extremely happy family, complete with five year old twin girls, now have close to seven more decades to tackle. Panic starts to set in. How do you keep it interesting with your partner for that long?

They decide to regularly surprise each other to keep it alive. Who doesn’t like surprises? Unfortunately, surprises lead to sneaking around, and not all surprises end the way intended. Before long, truths are revealed that, perhaps, would have been better off staying buried. This bond they formerly found unshakable, is now strained to the point of breaking. Will Project Surprise Me ultimately bring them closer or spread the gap farther?

Though Surprise Me a serious domestic story at heart, Kinsella weaves in humor, wit, and a certain lightness. The inner dialog of Sylvie is one that most women, especially moms, hear on a daily basis in their own head. Kinsella has a way of showing Sylvie’s true complexity as a wife and mom, while keeping you laughing along the way.
