PR agent Mia Thrush is all about the city and trying
to fit into her Gucci dress. The last thing she wants to do is babysit the
daughter of her biggest client while the girl does community service at a farm,
especially if it means interacting with the most frustrating man Mia’s ever
met. Ethan Bishop doesn’t particularly like Mia either, not with her big city
ideals. He’s returned home after a failed Special Forces mission leaves him
physically and emotionally scarred. While he’s looking for some quiet to recover,
Mia seems to do more for him than solitude. Before long, the two put aside their
differences and embrace the healing power of summer. But what happens when summer
ends? Can Mia give up the city she loves? Is Ethan capable of leaving behind
the peace of the country even though the city triggers his panic attacks?
The Start of
Something Good is
truly the start of a good series. Mia was a little hard to swallow at the
beginning, but she grows on you once she learns it’s okay to indulge in the
finer things of life like food. The demons these characters face help build
their character and make you root for them. Even the secondary characters make
the story well-rounded and enjoyable, as well as intriguing enough to peak
interest in the rest of the series. The second book, A Brand New Ending, came out this October and continues the story
of Ethan’s sister Ophelia.
